I read a story back in 2014 at Archive of Our Own, Heartbeats, by oyhumbug. It’s a super dark and twisty read, but it has Elizabeth getting pregnant just before Jason leaves in January 2000 which makes it hard for her to tell him. This story inspired me to take the same trope (pregnancy) but take a different road.
