Inspiration
This is a cluster of stories set in 2002 but they’re all very similar. After Elizabeth left penthouse in October of 2002, I think a lot of Liason fans felt like it would be temporary. It had be temporary because after all that build up, Liason had to be the story. But alas — it would nearly six years before our couple would get back on track and we’ve never really been the story, have we?
Like a lot of fanfiction writers at the time, I wrote a lot of stories that reunited Jason and Elizabeth during this period and they’re all nearly identical. I couldn’t see creating graphics and full story pages for them when they’re so similar. A lot of them were Flash Fictions from The Canvas Flash Fiction period and a few of them were scene rewrites I did, replacing Courtney with Elizabeth in scenes that happened on the show.
Timeline & Recap
After Elizabeth left the penthouse in October 2002, she and Jason only shared a handful of scenes together over the next several months until the Ric situation blew up. These ficlets all take place during October-December which is basically when Elizabeth was wandering in storyline wilderness while Jason chased Alcazar around and ended up — somehow — in a relationship with Courtney. Honestly. Someone should have told Steve that Jason and Courtney were the story because he legit did not play a single beat of that attraction until 2003.
See You Later
Set in Fall 2002. In response to Picture Challenge at Liason Underground. Lucky helps Elizabeth pack for a trip to San Franscico, discovers her collection of keys, and encourages her to say goodbye to Jason before she leaves.
When You’re Done
Set in October 2002. In response to The Canvas Flash Fiction challenge. Jason overhears Elizabeth preparing to help Lucky go after Luke and wants to stop her. Elizabeth isn’t in the mood to be told what to do.
Some Say Love
Set in Fall 2002. Elizabeth returns to the penthouse to pick up a jacket she left behind and overhears Carly encouraging Jason to pursue Courtney.
A Pale Shadow
Set in 2002. Flash Fiction from The Canvas. Elizabeth leaves Port Charles, reflecting on her past with Jason.
Jealousy
Set in November 2002. Elizabeth and Courtney talk about Jason in the park, unaware that Jason is listening.
Eternity
Set in November 2002. Sometime between finding out Brenda wasn’t sick and Alcazar’s death. Jason decides what to do with his future now that he doesn’t have to watch Brenda die.
It’s Meant the World
Set in December 2002. After sleeping with Courtney, Jason reflects on making mistakes and not really understanding how things got to this point.
