Update Link: Watch Me Burn – Part 3

Starting today, you can also download new ebooks for Mad World! Book 3 is available for the first time, and I’ve collected Books 1-3 into an ebook. So if you’ve fallen behind or never got around to reading it, and it feels like too much, this is a great way to caught up. You can also change the fonts and display in an ereader device. Clicking on the links will download zip files with all three available formats. Choose the one best for your device and needs.

Tomorrow, I’ll be releasing a partial ebook for Book 4 with Chapters 76-95 to mark the halfway point in Book 4.

I have three more books I need to organize into ebooks — Ricochet (Fool Me Twice Book 1), Reflections of You (Broken Girl Book 1), and Bittersweet. I’ll focus on Ricochet first because it’s never been released in ebook.

• I used to list upcoming projects on their own page, but I didn’t really see the point.
• A lot of them were duplicated when I relaunched my Alternate History page, so I just added a few of the missing projects.
• I still need to finish my relaunch of the Alternate Universe page.
• I also changed the In Progress page to the Series page. This page has my three major series broken down into their individual books.
• I updated the download links for Mad World’s ebooks. Book 3 will be released on Wednesday.

Update Link: Signs of Life – Part 38

This is going to be another short update — basically the second half of the part I planned last week. My TMJ doctor prescribed muscle relaxers, but only at night, and it’s still messing me up. It’s been making me groggy in the morning and making it hard to focus — I’m just generally feeling not so great on it and other than being able to sleep, I’m not feeling enough difference to justify staying on it every day.  I haven’t really been able to focus on anything since I started it, much less writing, so we need a new plan.

The good news is that today, I’m having the first of a series of tests meant to investigate the whooshing in my ear which is one of the biggest reasons my focus has scattered so much these last 18 months. I’m having an ultrasound on my carotid artery and a CT on my temporal bones to make sure all the vessels are in good shape and that there’s no aneurysm creating issues. (Doctor says that’s like the least likely culprit, but me who watches soap operas and has killed off many characters through aneurysm freaks out — we’re good now). Then, I have an MRI for my neck to confirm my diagnosis so that I can start treatment.

Having a lot of trouble getting started in the morning. I think it’s because of the medicine I’m taking — I’m supposed to take it around the time I go to bed, but it’s making me really groggy in the morning. I’m gonna try taking it a few hours earlier and see if it helps.

I finished reformatting the ebooks for Mad World, Books 1 – 3. Books 1 & 2 have been reuploaded to the site already because they were already publicly available. I had never created an ebook for Book 3, so that’s exclusive to the Patreon tier for about a week — the $3 and above tiers get early access.

Apologies for the late posting. Over the next few weeks, I have a few doctor appointments and tests scheduled on days when I’m writing Flash Fiction, so they might not be posted at 11 AM, but they should be at some point that day. Update Link: Signs of Life – Part 37

EDIT: A peek behind the curtains here. I set up everything before 10 AM and writing, so my update posts are written in advance. I do this so that I can hit publish as close to 11 as possible. I was about 20 minutes into writing Part 37 when my phone flashed with a notification.

Roe v. Wade overturned.

I knew it was coming today. I knew the decision was going to be brutal, and I knew it was going to put every SCOTUS decision that means anything to me on the line. If they can take Roe, they can take Brown and Lawrence and Obergefell.  I knew all of that, and still there was a small kernel that wanted to believe differently.

I literally just can’t. So today’s update is short. Two scenes. Sorry. I just can’t.  My brain just can’t focus.
