Welcome to Crimson Glass

This is a General Hospital fanfiction archive that concentrates on the pairing of Jason Morgan and Elizabeth Webber. You will also find a lot of stories that feature Sonny and Carly Corinthos, Patrick Drake and Robin Scorpio, and Nikolas Cassadine and Emily Quartermaine. The stories are written completely by me, Melissa (LissieLove) and features novels, short stories, and other GH-related material. It has been online since September 19, 2002.

If you don't like Jason and Elizabeth as a pairing or you have any fondness for the character of Franco, then you should probably click the back button and continue on your way. Happy travels. I hate Franco. He is a lying, violent, sociopathic piece of shit, and I hope this character gets yeeted into the sun. Thank you.

Your Update Link: Invisible Strings – Part 1

The summer schedule kicks off today! A reminder that Monday & Wednesday entries will be shorter than Friday — it’s the only way I can write two more stories this summer, lol. Friday will still be in sixty minutes.

Crimson Glass will be updating daily for the summer, Mondays – Fridays. For those of you on my update email list, be aware — that’s a lot of emails. If you’re not on the update link, don’t forget to join!

Update Link: Mad World, Book 4 – Chapter 89

This was posted earlier this morning, but I forgot to push out an update post — apologies!

I am officially on summer break as of 1 PM this afternoon, so yay for me. The kids were mostly low-key this week, but I got nailed with a nasty sinus infection that screwed with my sleep schedule so that was fun.

I was considering doing Flash Fiction this Sunday, but the lack of sleep just kind of bogged me down so I won’t be doing that. I posted the schedule last week, and it’s mostly the same except I now have the story for Wednesday, so in case you missed it:

  • Monday: Invisible Strings – AU Western Romance (20, 30, 40 minute increments)
  • Tuesday:  Mad World
  • Wednesday: Watch Me Burn (Set in 2007. Rewrites serial killer story. Last minute underdog win the Patreon vote. (20, 30, 40 minute increments))
  • Thursday: Mad World
  • Friday: Signs of Life/Scars (60 minutes increments)

Update Link: Signs of Life – Part 36

Posting Schedule beginning June 20, 2022

  • Monday: Flash Fiction – Invisible Strings, Alternate Universe Western Romance.
  • Tuesday: Mad World chapter
  • Wednesday: Flash Fiction – Too Close To The Sun, Set 2007. Rewrites post-Metro Court Hostage Crisis.
    • Probably. Being voted on in Patreon and it’s been leading, outside of a moment when it was in a 2-way and 3-way tie. Vote closes on Wed, June 15.
  • Thursday: Mad World chapter
  • Friday: Flash Fiction – Signs of Life
    • When Signs is completed, I’ll return to Scars. These should take us the rest of the summer.

Monday & Wednesday Flash will be in 20, 30, or 40 minute writing sessions depending on the day and schedule I’m at.  In July, I may add another day for one of the Flash stories. I’ll be taking weekends off for other projects and for relaxing.

I’ll be drafting Counting Stars in June & July (probably for about six weeks, beginning June 10), then rotating Broken Girl, Book 2 & Fool Me Twice, Book 2 for the rest of the summer. One week on each, then switching. This will give me a break and refresh but keep me on track. At the end of July, we’ll assess if it’s working. I’m hoping both projects will be done by the end of August, and I’ll spend the fall editing. This will give me content to post all of 2023.

News

  • Happy Sunday! I’m so relieved that there’s only one more weekend between me and summer vacation.
  • My last day is Friday, June 17, and it’s a half day where I’m literally doing nothing with the kids except counting down and packing up my classroom.
  • Next weekend is also the last time I’ll be updating Flash Fiction on Sunday because I’ll be moving into the summer scheduling starting June 20.
  • I’m also going back to drafting Counting Stars starting next Saturday, so I want to make sure I’m giving myself a break when I need it.
  • I’ll have more information about the summer schedule next Sunday because I will have it all finalized by then.

Update Link: Mad World, Book 4 – Chapter 84

Mad World

  • I’m so sorry for ducking out on Flash Fiction this weekend, but I woke up on Sunday morning with a sore back which was going to limit how much time I could spend at my desk. I knew if I pushed, I could finish Mad World’s edit, and I just wanted that to be my focus.
  • I’m super excited because I went into my four day break at Chapter 92, and I managed about 20 chapters on Saturday & Sunday. The book is done. I still have some line edits due from Ang, but my work on it is finished. It’s a huge weight off my shoulders.
  • The only thing left is for me to figure out if I wanna write an epilogue or not and I’ve got time to make at that decision. Chapter 115 is fine as an ending point as well.
  • This week, chapters will be posted on Tuesdays & Fridays.
  • That’s going to be the schedule between May 31-June 10.
  • Starting the week of June 20, I’ll move updates to Tuesdays & Thursdays so that there are daily updates on the site M-F.
  • If you are a Patreon supporter, the posting draft has been posted for $5 tiers.

Flash Fiction

  • The summer schedule for Flash Fiction kicks off Monday June 20 with Second Chance Mondays. Thanks to the voters on Patreon, I’ll be writing a historical Western romance (still untitled).
  • Flash Fiction will be at the usual time in the morning, but that first day I have a doctor’s appointment so it’ll be in the evening.
  • Wednesdays will be a new story. I took suggestions from some Patreon tiers, and Adored tier is going to vote on the story starting this Sunday.
  • Fridays will be Signs of Life/Scars.

Update Link: Mad World, Book 4 – Liberty, Chapter 83

A few quick notes before I dip out again until Sunday.

  • Mad World is moving to twice a week, starting Tuesday, May 31. Chapters will be posted on Tuesdays & Fridays at 7 AM.
  • New computer is here and we’re mostly set up. Getting used to the new keyboard and screen (it’s huge)
  • Had a busy start to week, but I’m home every night for the rest of the week, and then I have a three day weekend for Memorial Day, so planning a lot of editing.
  • Mad World was starting to really struggle to open on my last laptop, which was why editing was also a bit slow. New computer — it opens in 30 seconds and runs really fast.
  • I’ll have some more Flash Fiction scheduling news, I think, on Saturday.

Prayers with anyone affected by the school shooting in Texas on Tuesday. As a teacher, the knowledge that at any time, this could happen, has always been part of my teaching experience.  Columbine happened when I was freshman in high school. Sandy Hook when I was a college senior, but nothing has brought home more than the lockdown drills we do at school.

We have large classes full rambunctious kiddos who struggle with staying quiet on good days, much less during anxiety ridden practices.  My job is to get to the door, make sure it’s locked and closed, and then get the kids in the corner and hope this time it’s a drill, praying the real thing will never happen. The odds are against it every happening in my school, to be sure, but I know those parents who hugged and kissed their kids goodbye yesterday never dreamed they wouldn’t come home.

Take care of yourself and your loved ones. I’ll see you on Sunday.
