Update Link: Signs of Life, Part 16

Noted: Rated R if you care about those kinds of things. Nothing explicit, but suggestive anyway. I’m really trying to push myself with this story, so I hope you guys are enjoying it. I just don’t think I can write about this time period in Elizabeth’s life by leaving everything off the screen like I usually do, lol.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! I think this is the first Flash Fiction weekend I’ve actually completed in months, lol.

I made my word count goal and then some yesterday. I wrote around 4200 words and finished the next big chunk of Smoke & Mirrors. I’m experimenting with structure during this first draft, so it doesn’t really have chapters. It’s divided into three smaller novellas, and then each novella has 5 parts, with 15 overall. So basically, we’re at 2/15 and around 17k already written. I think we’ll be at around 120-150k total, but we’ll see.  It’s going well, and I’m enjoying the writing of this one so far since it’s an alternate universe. I don’t write those all that often, so it’s always nice to stop and stretch.

Looking forward to this upcoming week and next! We have conferences, and I love meeting with parents. Plus half day with the kids which is annoying for the schedule of content, but great for my patience, lol. Then next week, Thanksgiving break! November was one of my favorite months as a kid, and it remains that way as a teacher, lol.
