I wanted to drop in to let you guys know the plans for revising Mad World (and when you can expect to see it) as well as plans for resuming regular posting. I got very much in the weeds in October in a lot of things, so I pretty much focused exclusively on getting through the teaching day and then getting Mad World done by October 31.

Re: Flash Fiction. The plan is to bring it back this weekend (November 6 & 7). I have a four day weekend so I’ll have time during the week to get things in order so I don’t have to spend the entire weekend on one project. I’ll let you know if that changes.

Here is a monthly breakdown of what I’m doing from November 2021 through March 2022.

November

• Writing: Smoke & Mirrors and Karma.
  • I’m tossing about an hour a day at Karma because I have Parts 2 & 3 to complete. The scenes are super short (from 700 to 145 words) so I’m planning to be finished by November 7.
  • Smoke & Mirrors is an AU. I’m not sure exactly yet how long it will be. I’ve finished the plot sketch and most of the scene break down but I should know by the end of the week.
• Editing: Mad World
  • This month, I’m just focusing on rereading Books 1-3 to prep for Book 4. I want to note any continuity issues so I can clean up Book 4 more effectively and make sure all the narrative threads are resolved.
  • I’m also looking to do a final sweep for typos so I can clean up Books 1-3 and re-release newly formatted ebooks.

December

• Release: Karma @ the Liason Haven
  • This will be later in the month. I have to double check with admin there but since this is longer than I was expecting, I think Part 1 will go up December 31, and then 2 & 3 will follow on January 1 & 2. That might shift back a day or forward a day. I’ll let you know.
  • Karma will be exclusive to LH for several month, probably until April or May. You can read and reply there but I’ll post a link here so you know when it goes up.
• Writing: Smoke & Mirrors
  • I’ve tentatively set a December 31 Alpha Draft deadline.
• Editing: Mad World
  • I’ll be focusing on rereading Book 4 and make my first round of notes for changing and cleaning it up.
  • I’ll be constructing the beta draft (that’s basically replanning the novel with any added scenes so I can make sure the chapter break down works out.

January

• Discovery: Fool Me Twice Books 2 & 3
  • I’m actually working on these in spare moments but I’m not dedicating large blocks of time to it yet. I was close on an outline, but I was having trouble getting things to line up.
• Editing: Mad World
  • I’ll be spending all of January finishing the beta draft. I’m blocking out a lot of time for this book because it’s the finale and I want it to be right.

February

• Discovery: Fool Me Twice Books 2 & 3
  • The plan is finish this off by the end of the month so I’m ready to start writing.
• Editing: Mad World
  • This is the second round of edits — the posting draft.  The final draft.
• Editing: Smoke & Mirrors
  • This is the first round of edits.

March

• Release: Mad World, Book 4
  • The plan right now is to release the first five chapters on March 1, and then a chapter a day after that. I’ll update that after the beta draft and I know how many chapters I have.
• Writing: Fool Me Twice, Book 2
  • I’m going to be writing Books 2 & 3 at the same time, then editing both. There will be a long period between Mad World and the next book release so I can space out and give myself time to complete FMT.
• Editing: Smoke & Mirrors,  posting draft
